Netscape ver 3.x Mail Setup
Netscape Mail is a freeware product offered by Netscape and is available for downloading at The Mondenet Homepage and at the Netscape Homepage under "Downloads". The product is available for several platforms including Windows95/NT and MacOS.

Once Netscape is installed, go to the Options menu and then click Mail and News Preferences.

  • Click on Servers to enter in the host information.
    • The POP3 and SMTP servers are to be entered in their respective fields. (both are mail.mondenet.com)
    • You can delete messages or leave them on the server (for retrieval on another computer). It is also possible to set a maximum size setting to ignore large messages. The Mail directory is also specified by default as shown above.
  • Next click on Identity:
    • On this tab, enter your Real Name but the Reply to Address can be left blank unless you would like all your email sent to a different address. You can create a signature file and specify it in the appropriate field.
  • Next click on Organization:
    • You can save your mail password by checking the Remember Mail Password box. Mail sorting options are also specified here.
  • Next we click on Composition:
    • For sending attachments, it is best to have the Mime Compliant option checked.
    • The Mail File is also specified here, if you are getting an error when sending mail, please ensure that the path to the mail folder is correct. Sent mail will be saved in this folder.
  • The Appearance tab has settings entirely at the user's discretion.
